Weingut Dr.Schneider
Re-Branding

Company
Founded in 1950, the Vineyard Dr.Schneider is placed in the heart of the Markgaeflerland in Baden Württenberg. They stand for tradition and regional products. With the increasing demand for organically produced vine and regional pro- ducts, the vineyard has been in the pro- cess of growing and bottling their vine sustainably for almost two years now. Too initiate this change and address a younger target group, the winery is to be given a new visual appearance.
Logo Design
Since 1995 the frog with the deer antlers has been the main distinguishing feature of the winery. On the left side of the picture, you can see the original Logo of the vineyard. At the owners‘ request to keep the frog as a logo, it got converted into a uniform Logo and the typography. The combination of a serif and modern typeface meant to express tradition but also modern progress.

Label Design
The main focus of the project was the re- design of the labels. Here you can see the labels they used until now. The design is very reduced, where the frog is the main motive, framed by the product description and Brand name. The wines are available in different quality levels, which can be identified by the bottle cap‘s colour. Blue: Basic, Red: Medium Gold: High quality. This principle should also be maintained.

Re-Design
Abstract, modern and unusual. After many attempts and sketches, this mixture of abstract paintings and typography turned out to be an exciting and unseen label design. I developed an abstract painting for every quality level to separate them even more visually. The label is printed on natural paper with a strong texture for a sustainable but still high-quality feeling.
As the red wine bottles appear darker then the white wine bottles, I chose to use black labels for red wine, so they get their own visual appearance.

Website Design
Additional to the packaging design, web appearance should also get developed. The design I developed is also very reduced, and I wanted the images to communicate the values and emotions. Together with a professional photographer, we created some unique pictures with different perspectives. The abstract paintings used for the labels are also incorporated into the web design.

Conclusion
The redesign for the winery Dr.Schneider is a very exciting project for me and has given me a lot of new experiences and pleasure. The label design has greatly influenced and inspired the web design, which creates an even more uniform
Appearance. I think I succeeded in giving the winery a new modern appearance and created a design which they can use for future changes or conversions.
